Missing file Src/project_config.h

Instructions at https://github.com/groupgets/purethermal1-firmware say "If you wish, you can modify Src/project_config.h to customize your build."

However, there is no file called Src/project_config.h. The Src folder has no dot_h files.

Thanks, that's a typo, project_config.h is in the folder Inc

It looks like your working copy is owned by root. You need to change permissions to yourself if you want to edit stuff.
