We were looking at some of the MAGs and are seeing some strangely large genome sizes despite fine CheckM and GUNC scores.
What do you think? Could the scores be wrong? Or perhaps they are are Eukaryotes? I've heard GTDB-Tk (and CheckM v2) assume the input MAG is prokaryotic, so misclassifications of Euks to Archaea could be happening here. Do you do any Euk checks? (and on that thought - has Oleks looked for euks in Spire?)
Or... do you think this is just surprisingly real biology? Thanks for any insights!
