crash after sega logo #3

Open ghostslider opened 3 months ago

ghostslider commented 3 months ago

When trying to play on python edition CE, it shows the sega logo, then for a split second a blank white framed screen then crashes to validating OS

grubbyplaya commented 2 months ago

That kind of crash only happens when you didn't upload all the appvars correctly. Check if your calculator has Sonic2.8xv and Bank(04-31).8xv in flash memory. If it doesn't, reupload them to flash and try again.

in my case, my calculator (the TI-83 premium CE) havn't enough space to upload all files in the RAM memory, so i have uploaded theses files in archive memory and the calculator crash like ghostslider describe it. is it normal or not ? (sorry for my bad english, i'm french lmao)

grubbyplaya commented 2 months ago

It's not. You aren't supposed to put any of the files in RAM, so that might be the problem. Try reuploading them.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, like i wanted to say in the last comment i've upload all the files in the archive memory not in RAM (i specified this because i tought i had to put all files in RAM before to try it) but even in the archive memory the calculator crash in any case and i'm sure i upload all files correctly.

Could you tell me the names of the appvars you have uploaded to your 83PCE?

MonkeyDJim commented 2 months ago

All of Bank(04-31).8xv and the Sonic2.8xv appvars file (and the program file sonic2.8xp of course) (cf. screenshots of uploaded files on the calculator) image image

This happened to me a while ago (possibly in an earlier version, if I'm not mistaken). I couldn't really figure it out, but I just deleted and re-sent a bunch of stuff and it started working 🤷🏻‍♂️ I just tried this version with everything archived (honestly, it might be the same version as before; my memory is pretty foggy) and it runs fine... Maybe it's in the OS?
