IIRC we've always used ascending order for posts within forums (newest at end, the natural list ordering). I'm leaning towards reversing that to descending order.
Though I'm not a fan of the style personally (even my inboxes are "oldest to newest"), it both keeps things consistent with the Twitarr stream approach and likely makes for superior UX to not have to scroll to see new stuff on tiny devices.
OTOH, well... it's unnatural to have to read a conversation bottom up, and promotes uninformed commentary ("that's already been covered... three times. scroll down"). I'm not seeing a clear winner. Thoughts?
My thought is to keep it from oldest to newest for forums. Scrolling down can be handled client-side as long as the client tracks the last seen post. It just needs to scroll to that post on load.
