[Anrop] Alekanderu — 2023-04-24 22:53 Suggestion for Shoot and Scoot: Rather than spawning all 5 supply containers per side at start, only spawn one each at the start, and then spawn a new one for that side once the first one is destroyed, and so forth until one side has destroyed five containers.

Otherwise, the optimal strategy is (likely) to simply hide and not use the artillery until all enemy supply containers have been located by drone recon, at which point you quickly deploy the artillery, fire at all 5 supply containers and then - even if you get counterbatteried or located by hunterkillers - you will have won, without having to do any scooting. But by only one supply container being visible at a time, you'll have to change tactics and actually play the scenario as it's intended.

If the suggested change is actually how the mission already works, then just ignore this!

Bernhard — 2023-04-24 23:12 Uhr I was afraid of this tactic too before we did the Proof of Concept Playtest. But no side ever tried this tactic (admittedly we played only 2 games so far).

I am not sure if it is really a viable tactic because taking out the targets is not necessarily all that quick (if not done via laser targeting). You need to fire between half and the entire 10 round magazine of dumb shells to destroy a container and you need to rearm inbetween magazines. If your enemy has a headstart in terms of destroying your stations you might not make it in time. Even more so if the arty is totally stationary and also rearms in position, which makes them susceptible for counter battery fire. So far there is no spawn logic/script for the containers. I place them manually as Zeus. And I don't dare making such last minute implementations with regard to test coverage / quality. 😨 But I will take it as an enhancement which we can also discuss with others (in the debriefing and whereever people like to) 🙂

The spawing script has been implemented by now (see #21).

They only question thus remaining is if Shoot and Scoot would benefit from making it more gamey by implementing a spawn one by one.

I personally like it better when missions bear more resemblance with reality (where there are no stations just poping up because anotherone just exploded).
