I'd like to add a little feature to fast aquire the distance from on point to another (on the map) that can be used to lookup the correct ranges in the artillery range tables.
Sounds a lot like cTab in the inventory of the artillery bois n girls would do the trick.
How do you feel about it @NeutraleNull ?
Yes part of it, but the important thing is the quadrant. Just having 360° is just not precise enough at those distances
Tbh i thought just using the map tools is enough. gets range and direction done, elevation difference is just a subtraction anyways.
I guess I don't understand the term "quadrant" here. Can you explain it to me or link further information?

Map tools works just fine, but it takes pretty long to get the reading. Time that you do not have in a tvt/pvp environment. It will do the excat same, just with two clicks :D

It is a finer degree (i think its in mil?) you can read from the maptools.
The reason why artillery computer are still enabled is to get feedback from the test today, see what people think and what they prefer. be it artillery computer, range cards or some other solution.

How about this?

@NeutraleNull @diwako I have no strong feelings towards any or no change here. But here are my 2 cents

I would add a hotkey that enables you to set two points on the map. It than will draw a line from point of origin to target and will display the range in meters, difference in elevation to the target and quadrant in degress. Display will be either a small hint or a marker on the map (only visible to yourself).
This would allow to fast use artillery range cards and enables a player to use lower arc solutions than the vanilla targeting computer.
