versionCheck: whitelist wildcard support #93

regex support would be awesome. - but I cant find a Linux server extension for that :/

How about supporting just a simple wildcard for now? Regex support may be too much work. Maybe just .* (or .+ depending on if we want a wildcard to match nothing as well) as a wildcard, so if we change to regex at some point in time it will still behave the same.
