Does your shared host have imagemagick or another image-processing program
available?
If so, I could decouple the image generator, allowing coolRunnings to use a
passthru
to a command-line tool instead.

How do you test if imagemagick is installed?

If ImageMagick is installed, you should have /usr/bin/montage.

I'm going to bump my slice up from a 256 share to a 1 gig share for the demo
(that's
RAM, but I/O and CPU will be bumped up accordingly), so this might be less of
an issue.

Wow - I have it!
$ /usr/bin/montage
Version: ImageMagick 6.2.4 09/16/06 Q16 http://www.imagemagick.org
So should I proceed with the instructions here (
http://jaredhirsch.com/coolrunnings/about/ ) under "Older Updates"?

Awesome!
No, don't just follow those instructions -- I've got to partially rewrite
coolrunnings to use a passthru instead of using the Imagick extension.
Probably going to need a couple days for this, to leave enough time to play with
ImageMagick.

Hey, Jared - assign back to me when the instructions are ready.
