This effect would remove the dot in the middle of the screen, making it extremely hard to shoot your gun.

removing the crosshair will do nothing to a skilled player, maybe adding a random offset to the ingame crosshair position will make this funnier? at least in grand theft auto san andreas there were variables in the game's memory defining where the crosshair is, and those variables were used in the shooting function to correctly shoot onto the crosshair (unlike, say, in vice city and III). i dont know if anything like that is present or possible on Rage, but if it is - its a great idea
