Currently investigation Cactus, Jekyll, Middleman, and Assemble.

Cactus

Written in Python.
:thumbsup: Uses the Django template engine.
:thumbsdown: Plugin based architecture so it is really to customize but may lead to a bunch of annoying random Python files.
:thumbsdown: No built in support for uploading via SCP (it's has built in AWS and Rackspace).

Jekyll

Written in Ruby.
:thumbsdown: Use the liquid template engine (is pretty bad).
:facepunch: Ruby gem based plugin system.
:thumbsdown: A lot of Ruby gem dependencies.

Middleman

Written in Ruby.
:-1: Plugin based architecture.
:+1: Use Ruby built in template system.

Assemble

Written in Node.js.
:+1: Has a lot of mom based plugins.
:+1: Grunt based build system.
