The name gir is incredibly confusing/ambiguous causing many a confusion (and the odd accidental insult…)

Some ideas

sdroege commented 3 years ago

g-ir-rustgen

Sounds good to me. @bilelmoussaoui @GuillaumeGomez ?

GuillaumeGomez commented 3 years ago

None of the suggested names mean much to me... :-/

sdroege commented 3 years ago

gir means something to you? :)

GuillaumeGomez commented 3 years ago

Not much either (I'm not opposed to changing the name, just prefer something more explicit at least XD).

ZanderBrown commented 3 years ago

@GuillaumeGomez g-ir-rustgen is a sort of hybrid of the core g-i tools (i.e. g-ir-scanner) and rust other binding tools (i.e. wasm-bindgen)

Hofer-Julian commented 3 years ago

Maybe gir-rustgen?

GuillaumeGomez commented 3 years ago

gir-rustgen sounds better indeed.

@bilelmoussaoui In Debian, we have started using the name gir-rust-code-generator
