generated from the gir file that comes with gdl-3 5.0.9, which is v3.34.0-2 on arch

Does it make sense to use a different repository for the GDL binding like what is done for webkit: https://github.com/streaksu/webkit2gtkd

Or would it be better to keep it as part of GtkD?

you are right that would be better.

Is there maybe some kind of existing project template for this where it auto setups the dub.json and possibly even cmake and meson build files? I do like the idea of having a second way to build than just dub.
