Is AIX on IBM Power7 a known-working machine architecture/OS? #98

I think this probably actually isn't a bug per se, but -- 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Mosaik-1.1.0021-Linux-x64
IBM Power7 (P755) running AIX 6.1 (where each node has 4 8-core processors)

Does your team have any knowledge of folks successfully running Mosaik on 
AIX-based systems? Our AIX machine has 32 cores per node with 128 GB RAM, but 
"make" looks like it may need a Makefile expressed in some alternate format.  

I'm asking for support in parallel from our local admins, but -- meanwhile, 
wanted to ask if you know of any successful users on this config.  I'm also 
happy to ask this question on the SEQanswers Bioinformatics forum or elsewhere, 
but wasn't sure it was appropriate there.
