Version 6 or 6.1 does not use the config.json file. The option -w /path/to/filename.txt work fine, are you sure the file path is correct?

Yes path is correct
Can you please show us the whole command you digit on terminal?
what is the error output?
try this command, it just shows your wordlist:
knockpy yourdomain.com --no-remote --no-scan -w /path/to/file.txt

knockpy uses the wordlist.txt file by default, so you don't need to specify it
In your case, you can use:
python3 knockpy.py yourdomain.com

you are already in the "knock" folder, so your correct path is knockpy/local/wordlist.txt
