I use android-x86 to replace google android sdk emulator, because this one is
so much faster.
I use this hack to enable portrait mode to better emulate a cell phone
<ExtraDataItem name="CustomVideoMode1" value="640x800x16"/>
But it seems when in portrait mode, the graphic acceleration is disabled,
drawing is much slower then in landscape mode.
Please take a look at this one. Android-x86 is a very useful development tool
regardless this issue.
I'm using android-x86-2.2-generic.iso with virtualbox 3.2.8 in
ubuntu x86 10.10
