HDD not detected @ install #343

I wanted to install Android 2.2 as main (only) OS as I have an old tablet PC - 
it's a useless PMG Quadpad (1G CPU, 512 RAM, 40GB 
HDD) and I was thinking that i can find a place in the car for it
 with a cool OS and make it usefull again BUT :(
After I boot from an USB 
stick with android-x86-2.2-xxxxxx (tried them all) and I chose "Install
 Android to Hadrddisk", in the next window it asks to chose the "pa
rtition" where it should install the OS... the problem is that it on
ly shows my USB stick (no HDD i mean)

I tried with Live VESA mode and it works fine - a small problem wi
th the touch-screen but nothing major... i think it's fixable... but 
i want to store music on it and to personalise it a little bit....
Can anyone help me please?

oh... forgot to mention that I formated the HDD in any possible way... now it's 
EXT3...
