I didn't got any further than the error with every image that I have tried. I
hope that this one will be supported in the future. If there's something to fix
it or releases that have support for this model. I will let it know.

Hi, have a friend with one also and he managed to get to work BUT HERES THE
CATCH, only worked when within one metre of wireless box . worth a try? no
practical use really & did not work for me!!!. i even tried disabling my
security on wireless network. so had open network, any one can connect & still
did not work. Android would of been ideal for my daughter, really hateing it at

ONLY WAY CAN GET INTERNET ON ANDROID is direct Via ethernet cable or a Plug in
Network adapter (plug in any plug in house & short network cable & other plugs
in near wireless box via short network cable - yes need minimum 2 plug in
adaptors) & network cable but still need to be near a plug socket and then got
a network cable connected to netbook. Great idea plug in network adaptor. i use
simple 85mbps as only have virgin 10mbps so fast enough for internet browsing &
can plug in anywhere in house (upstairs/downstairs outside via extension lead)
They only work on your house mains.even tried one on next doors and do not work
so secure to one house ( NO SET UP or DRIVERS REQUIRED JUST PLUG IN & PLAY )
ONLY WAY CAN USE ANDROID ON MY NETBOOKS

I have bought a second hand Acer Aspire One D257. It was installed out of the
box with Windows 7 starter and Android. As i wanted to reinstall windows
because it was installed with the credentials of the former owner. I wiped the
harddrive (thinking all software would be posted on the acer site) unfortunatly
it was not.
I don't have the restore disks and acer asks a fee of €60 to ship them.
I tried the android iso for asus laptops and saw that ethernet is working but
wifi isn't.
I tried the proposed solution in the second post but no succes.
Any change this issue will be solved in a new release soon?
Kind regards,

if have done, use the android repair under windows 7 starter(if got).

have spoken several times via email to acer
told me to use the android repair under windows 7 and put back to original
version,
unfortunatley when got mine new out box did update
do not use latest version use older one if available,
although not had the time to check on mine yet,
not sure about new releases, dowt it for acer.
if check android site will notice android meant originally for only up to 7"
devices,
and not really meant for laptops/netbooks - shame.
Hopefully in time will sort, if get wifi too work
if wanted will keep you posted,(ebaytez-at-gmail-dot-com)
i may have backup of original setup ( win7 & android) on dvd )
will serach for and let u know if want to reinstall
(you will just need to use your key of netbook to activate)
cheers Terry.

@ terry,
I've sent you a private mail requesting the original Acer recovery images.
Did you manage to get hold of them?
Kind regards,
Pieter
