I think the page "loads" but nothing renders. Basically if you click around the
black browser screen everything is in it's proper place, but it's black.

I have the same issue on a WeTab with this build x86-4.0-tegav2-20120101
browser loads, redirects but renders black screen.

Also voice search not working. You tube previw of videos work but playing does
not work.

All in all this is ultrafast graphics anywhere else! The best i have ever seen
on a wetab

I also have the exact same issue on a x86-4.0-tegav2-2012010 on a wetab. The
browser is the most vital part for me. I could live without flash but not
without browsing. I hope this gets some attention.

It's a general failure i guess... the images which dont work are no longer
online... at least at googlecode... hope they will upload better images soon...

btw, using the wetab too... =)

I can say that the page DOES render. For example: Get Dolphin Browser HD from
Market, configure to use desktop User-Agent, and go to facebook.com. While the
whole page appears black (and this appears to be an issue with the WebView
widget or WebKit build), click around the top right of the "black" page. Sooner
or later, you'll hit the one of the boxes asking for your email or password
credentials, which will be visible on top of the otherwise black page.

This happens with any "browser" on the Market that uses WebView widget (WebKit
engine built into Android OS)

Opera Mobile and Opera Mini are unavailable for testing, as both use native
code for ARM CPUs (without x86 variants)

This may possibly be an issue with the hardware rendering. I'm afraid to try it
in VESA mode because I don't know how long I could live with a 0.8 FPS
framerate before I decided to just go and hang myself :P

the issue is that flash is not supporting ics yet...

So missing Flash support messes up plain HTML websites and the GMail app too?

This is how I got it figured to the best of my understanding through reading
this thread and others. The WebKit web rendering engine is built into the
Android 4.0 ICS to display web pages but does not yet support Flash Player.
The stock Android browser relies on WebKit for its WebView to work which
produces a black screen without Flash Player. The stock Android Gmail app has
its own black screen problem in the text window for reading emails and
apparently also depends on WebKit. YouTube viewing also relies on Flash Player
and gives a black screen.

I figured out a workaround for the browser. I tried another browser, Dolphin,
but it also uses WebKit and gives the same black screen. A browser that has
Flash built in and does not rely on WebView should work. Indeed, if you
install the Ninesky Browser as suggested above it works just fine and it is an
adequate browser. If you go into Settings > Advanced you will see a setting to
turn Flash on and off which indicates Flash is included in the browser.

I also figured out a workaround for GMail. The stock GMail app is frustrating
because it works partially but it is not functional enough to really work and
you will have difficulty reading messages. Use your Ninesky Browser (with
Flash) and bring up the GMail in Google Mobile (mail.google.com) and you will
have a fully functional Gmail through the Browser. Save it as a Bookmark. The
GMail app is also running in the background and conveniently lets you know when
email has arrived so still serves a function.

I could find no workaround to get YouTube to work so I think you can kiss that
goodbye for now. As a side, you may have also noticed that the Google Maps app
lacks the ability to zoom. You can double click to zoom in but I could find no
way to zoom out. This was the same problem on 2.3 as well as 4.0 so I do not
think this is a Flash problem. Never the less, if you bring up Google Maps in
in Ninesky Browser (maps.google.com) and use Google Maps in the browser (not in
the app) it works just fine. Save it as a bookmark.

Found a workaround for my Tega v2. In stock browser enter "about:debug" in the
URL bar and hit enter, nothing happens but when you go to settings a hidden
debug menu revealed. Click Debug and Disable OpenGL Rendering (which is
enabled by default). This fix is for the browser only, Gmail and YouTube still
blacked out.
