I am also having the same problem. I believe it is waking up but the graphics
card is having issues. When it is mosaic if you move the mouse around you can
see things move around.

I find on my eee 701 when I press the power button to wake up, the cursor can
move, the screen is dim and I can't click. If i press the power button again
the screen goes brighter then I can click and unlock. Also I find that pressing
the power button to sleep the EEE, it wakes up by it self after some time.

I have the EXACT same issue here. It goes to sleep then the video crashes. I
can tell it is awake but the video is dead.

i just enabled developer options by tapping the build number in "about device"
section and checking stay awake in the developer options. i just close the
screen when not using it.

I have same problem on my T91 EeePC and android 4.0 RC2.
It is interesting, that suspend to ram is working on linux kernel 3.4 and above
(exactly in Fedora 19). It need take graphic (poulsbo) driver from linux kernel
3.4 and use it in android kernel... But I am not sure, if is it possible...
