accounts created on rss-parrot are not visibile by pleroma instances

gugray commented 7 months ago

I am trying to check this out but the only three Pleroma instances I can find anywhere on the internet are the three instances listed at https://pleroma.social/#featured-instances.

On two of the three, registrations are closed. The Udon one loads after about a minute, and tells me registrations are closed.

I am deprioritizing this (i.e., "won't fix") for now, but I'm happy to revisit when

1) I get another report that includes the name of the Pleroma server where the issues can be observed 2) Details about the issue ("I do this; I expect this to happen; instead, this happens) 3) The server in question has registrations open so I can create an account and actually do something about the issue.

maybe piggo.space the creator accepts signups and he's willing to accept you in.

I'm happy to pursue this if the Pleroma creator reaches out to show interest in working together to track down the issues! Alternatively, someone who is running a Pleroma instance, can check logs etc. It worked well with GoToSocial: https://github.com/gugray/rss-parrot/issues/26

I can follow parrot https://miantiao.me/@birb@rss-parrot.net on my instance of pleroma but can't see its updates

gugray commented 3 months ago

You don't want to follow @birb@rss-parrot.net. That account does not post anything.

The accounts you want to follow are the ones parroting specific RSS feeds, like @citizenlab.ca@rss-parrot.net (picked randomly from the list of recently created feeds in the RSS Parrot).
