Invalid AnkiDroid JS API Version

How to reproduce: Using AnkiDroid on Linux Ubuntu added script to template as per instructions, then synchronised to propagate changes to AnkiWeb and then on Android, then tested on Android. Got the error "Invalid AnkiDroid JS API Version" on Android while working fine on Ankiweb.

Versions:

• AnkiDroid 2.17.6 (anki 23.12.1) on Tablet Huawey Mediapad M5 lite powered by Android 8.0.0.
• Also tested also on AnkiDroid 2.17.6 on smartphone Oppo A5 CPH1931 powered by Android 10, same error.

working fine

• Addon working fine on Ubuntu 20.04 Anki Version ⁨23.12.1 (1a1d4d54)⁩.
• Script working fine on https://ankiuser.net/study

Tried

• Re reading instructions expecting my error somewhere, seems not
• Searched past issues for same or similar problem.
• Followed instructions to search for wiki, did not find.
• Searching for "Invalid Ankidroid JS API Version" on the web at no avail
• Tried adjust script to 'version: "0.0.2"' in case my android is too old, expecting at least another type of error, but got same error.

Added information Tried to export and join the template in case of side effect from other tuning I made. Did not find a way. Instead, hereafter are copy and paste of my front and back templates:

Thanks for the feedback, I reproduced the problem, but I haven't figured out the reason yet. You can avoid this problem by upgrading AnkiDroid to a newer version.

Tried you suggestion : Upgraded to "https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/releases/download/v2.18.4/AnkiDroid-2.18.4-arm64-v8a.apk" Error "Invalid AnkiDroid JS API Version" disappeared.

Problem solved.
