ParamILS http://www.cs.ubc.ca/labs/beta/Projects/ParamILS/ --- state of the art static tuning methods.

Portofolio: requires both a static control and a dynamic control during work. E.g. Watch the typical memory usage patterns and adapt the GC parameters.
