I try to add the possibility to create folders from within the notebook as I agree this is a bit a pain currently. I however prefer not to create folders automatically (even less in the same place as the data) as this could easily lead to unwanted overwriting.
I massively prefer an "all movies in one folder per experiment" structure over an "one movie per folder" structure. As this is how the data comes out of the microscope and it makes it much easier to look at manually. However, although the software fortunately allows for this kind of structure it is extremely cumbersome to work with:
The current behaviour is to save the output directly in the selected folder. It would be really useful if there would be an option to automatically create a subfolder, based on the movie name, that the output will be saved in. Right the work flow is: Select movie in the notebook -> Go back to finder and find the movie to copy the name -> create a folder in the finder and paste the name -> Go back to the notebook and select that folder for the output.
The workflow could be heavily improved by automatically creating a subfolder, or adding the functionality of creating a folder from inside the notebook.
I understand this is not a priority, but would be a nice quality of life feature.
