Could you explain the difference between this shell=True, the subprocess stuff and my implementation, because i don't know how subprocess works ans what it does

Sure! I replaced the os.system() commands because it's deprecated, You may want to check out this stack overflow question for more information! (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5596911/python-os-system-without-the-output)
