Use root-config to find root variables #542

On mac, the include direction is include/root so the current implementation creates issues with the setup.sh file

Thanks for the PR. I used it as a base for #544 which generalizes the fix and cleans up the old implementation (our problems, not yours). It should work now. Off to backport this to long-term-support!
