Home Page: Portfolio Latest Issue not updating with new image or link/content #272

Hi Cody, This is the 2nd time where I've updated the Home Page's Portfolio content in Refinery with new images, content and links, but the front end doesn't refresh/change. The Refinery link below showing the new content. If it doesn't refresh for me, is it not refreshing for our clients as well?

@johnsisland All set - I mentioned this last time, but as a reminder, all you have to do to "fix" this is save the home page.

Literally just go here http://www.johnsislandrealestate.com/refinery/pages/home/edit and click "Save" - you don't have to actually make any changes.

What's happening is the home page is "caching" until it's updated - meaning the ACTUAL homepage. When you change the portfolio section, you're not ACTUALLY updating the home page, you're changing something that the home page displays.

The "solution" to this is to either turn off caching - but that hurts page speed, which is phenomenal right now - or expire the home page cache ANY time ANY page is saved.

The downside there is that sometimes we'll expire the cache when we don't need to.

My personal opinion would be to leave it, but if you think you won't remember or that it's too much of a pain, I'd say go with option #2

Hi Cody, I've updated one of the home page's featured blocks and it's not showing the updates again. It used to work like a charm. Now it doesn't. Can you fix this for me please? I've replaced the "Huffington Post" square feature with our "5K Rabbit Run/Walk" feature. thanks

I'm editing http://www.johnsislandrealestate.com/refinery/pages/home/jire-5k-rabbitrun-walk/edit

So after editing that custom block, I hit save. You're asking me to go to the "home" page of Refinery per the link above and simply click "save"? If so, I did that and still nothing is making the home page refresh. It used to work correctly before the host change.

I got it. Not sure why I had to flush the cache. Saving the home page should do that.

The cache should automatically flush now
