Website - Email Notifications Not Working #282

JIRE website email notification for user accounts are not working.

I have not received an email notification since 6/3. Cheryl in my office also hasn't received a website notification since 5/30. We're reaching out to a client we know signed up to see if she's received anything.

My concerns are 1) no one else is getting them and 2) no JIRE email addresses are getting them. This continues to be intermittent for us.

I have not updated my saved searches since 3/2016, and have no properties saved or favorited. My user/pass: marketing@johns... / Dodgers1

I have not updated my saved searches since this was a previous issue. We do seem to have spotty issues with this auto notifications sending out from that Google account. Please check. I've now updated 8 listings total today. No notifications were sent to me.

Thanks. When you return ASAP. I will be making new listing's live on 6/26...so I need this to work. We only have 30 properties to sell and they are all watching the site! Robyn

This is happening sporadically because of the issue I just mailed PB on.

When a listing is saved, we sync it to PB AND send the alert mailers.

But because the app errors out, it never got to the alert mailers.

Until PB can come up with a fix, I'm moving this into a separate process so even if the PB sync errors, the emails still will get sent

Ok thank you. Is it possible to reverse the order and send the alert mailer first, then sync to PB? Glad you found the issue.

The actually run in parallel now, but in separate queues so they're completely independent of one another.

I'm seriously starting to think it was a mistake to reverse the sync from Refinery to PB. We have nothing but ongoing issues. This set up has cost you and me lots of time and resources. Is it time to seriously consider setting up PB they way they wanted us to?I hate to think that, but we are still dealing with the other outstanding issue of the PB record being unavailable to save if Refinery is updating it. Something to think about.

I honestly couldn't make a case for reversing course. In fact, I think we would be dealing with a lot more headaches, especially after talking with PB.

One thing that immediately stuck out was that we would be limited to basically two dimensions of images. Like, with refinery, as I said, we crop to about 8 different proportions. In PB, you get two.

I'll keep evaluating it, but I don't see anything but problems with the reverse side of things.

And on that note, I did a lot on the trip back to add fail safes to our syncing with PB (which is why I knew what this was).

I think this latest thing with the 255 characters is the last hurdle

Just updated this today... still no notification! made it a live listing as "UNDER CONTRACT".

What account email?

What is the account password?

Which saved search do you think should be triggering the email? (Found on the account page)

it was working, then it wasn't after the HTTPS change, and you said due to some Gmail setting. It's not working again for me. Every time we do this, I confirm that I don't change a thing, and it stops working. I don't know why and I need to be notified of every NEW LISTING, PRICE CHANGE and UNDER CONTRACT & SOLD activity. It used to work beautifully in the past, and now in the last year I've reached out at least 4 times saying it doesn't work and you've always found an issue.

So, I think I figured out why I was getting them and you weren't.

I think *johnsislandrealestate.com was on the suppression list from sending out a ton of emails to those addresses (back when I pushed a bunch of them through).

I requested a suppression list removal for those addresses and pushed the items through the queue again.

Based on your email, it sounds like you're getting them.

I also cleared out some of the gmail emails trying to track down what this was.

This should not be a problem going forward because I have proactively whitelisted johnsislandrealestate email addresses.

Other email addresses should be fine, too, (like mine) unless they specifically marked an email as spam or blocked the email address
