Search Results Drops To Bottom In Google CSE When Using Google Subscribed Links #506

I tried using "FORID:9" in my custom search engine. It works fine in all
browsers when I do a normal search on my CSE displaying my content on the left
and Google's sponsored links on the right.

However as soon as I do a search pertaining to my subscribed links it drops my
search results to the bottom, with the Google sponsored links still to the
right, when using the latest non-beta versions of Google Chrome, Opera or
Safari. It does work fine however when using the latest non-beta versions of IE
& Firefox.

For now I had to revert to "FORID:11" seeing that "FORID:11" displays the
Google sponsored links at the top and bottom and mine in between all in one
column.

I do however prefer to have the Google Sponsored Links towards the right and
mine in the column on the left as per "FORID:9".

I presume that this has to be a style issue , but I have tried everything and
just can't seem to solve the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Two questions:

First, is this a problem with the Search API, or the Custom Search Engine?
(i.e., Are you seeing it at your CSE, or on another site that you're running an
AJAX Search on?) If I'm reading correctly, this is a CSE issue, and you'll want
to bring it up with them, probably on their help forum, which can be found at
the link below:

http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/customsearch?hl=en

And second, if this is an issue with the Search API, could you provide a link
to your page?

The CSE displays fine with a normal search, but however once I do a search that
pertains to a custom XML Subscribed Link that is linked to my CSE the custom
search results drops to the bottom with "FORID:9". Therefore the Custom
Subscribed Link doesn't resize correctly in order to fit in towards the left of
the "Powered By" logo. It drops way below the logo and the Google Sponsored ads
that are on the right.

Hope that makes sense.

So, do you have a link to a page where we can see this in action?

OK, I have done the following:

You will notice that there is a "Site Search" at the top which is a CSE where I
have changed the the ID back to 9 so that you can see what I mean. The search
criteria that you need to use in order to see the problem with the custom
Subscribed Link is "advertise".

At the bottom I have exactly the same CSE, but with ID 11. Also use the same
search criteria ie "advertise" there and you will see exactly why I can't use
"FORID:11". The "Ads by Google" results are at the top and the rest invisible.

The link to my site is: http://www.bizmaps.co.za

I trust that it will make sense now.

Right. So, this is definitely an issue with the linked CSE rather than the
Search API. I would suggest posting it to their support forums, linked below.
They will be able to direct you far better than anyone monitoring this list or
the Google APIs Group, etc.

Because it's not an issue with the AJAX APIs, I'm going to mark this as invalid.
