I'm curious what it takes to get a keyboard added to the keyboard API. If I can
provide a layout, is it easy to add new ones? The language would be Northern
Sámi, which is spoken in northern scandinavia by a very technologically able
and large amount of people.
Not only am I curious about this specific language, but I know quite a number
of people who are interested in language preservation both in this area on
other languages, and other areas in the world as well. Depending on how easy it
is, I can imagine others would want to know, and be able to come forward with
keyboard layouts to support suggestions.
As for Northern Sámi, the language code is 'sme', and the layout is in the
link following.

There are other varying standards based on country, but since most NS speakers
are in Norway, that might be the one to start with. If this isn't enough
information, I'm happy to provide more.
