I am receiving the above error msg intermittently since this morning.

Same to me but since Jan 13 with this request:

I am getting this same error with this url:
https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/search/patent?v=1.0&q=lithium+battery

I get valid reslts with the test url from the pattent page:
https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/search/patent?v=1.0&q=thumb%20wrestlin
g%20apparatus

I can not figure what the difference could be, why one gets results, but the 
other doesn't
