Please, make sure that they look good on KDE. If you used mask, please replace for vectorised paths.

In inkscape I used the drop shadow filter, so I don't believe I used a mask. Is that the incorrect way to do it?

I replaced shadows (originally via Filters) with vectorized opacity gradients + blur. (low res screenshot)

You can use drop shadow and gradient. Only the mask is not supported in KDE.
