Ideally, the text to be translated should be the only thing on screen. We may be able to get rid of the form altogether, using HTML Canvas.
When using the service with mouse, the user should be able to mouse over the text. Every time a word is in focus, a faint background effect should be shown, marking the word. If the word is already marked, the background should also change, to a slightly darker tone (on touch screens, this effect is not displayed because there is no hover event).
If the word is clicked, an HTML Canvas is displayed on top of the text, with ways to mark up the word, or information about how the word has been previously marked up.
