put on rpi-imager #14

Hey, I want to know what the current status of the project? I think of putting an OS request for rpi-imager. And also adding it to my community maintained fork at: https://github.com/guysoft/pi-imager. That way you could in one click download and flash the latest image or nightly. @jofemodo your thoughts?

Also, can you open the issue tracker on https://github.com/zynthian/ZynthianOS so we can open issues there?

Thanks!

Hi @guysoft !

Nice to read your lines. Also in the forum but i couldn't answer yet.

Currently we are quite busy with hardware & software development, but we are not generating nightly images because this was causing too many issues/confusions and little benefit, so currently we only generate an image when needed. FYI, I've implemented an "image updater" that updates the last stable image instead of building it from scratch. This has reduced the time needed for stabilizing an "update release".

Let me think about your proposal about the rpi-imager, but i would need some time because my head is too busy with development.

My very first thoughts about it:

Regarding your request of "opening the issue tracker", i just did it ;-)

Best Regards,

I see. I think just adding an entry for zynthian stable could be the way to go. Since you are doing so much manual stuff it could just be updating a json file.

I created on my server a working json file (you can just host this on your end too): https://unofficialpi.org/rpi-imager/rpi-imager-zynthian.json

You can test and see how the menu will look in the imager:

rpi-imager --repo https://unofficialpi.org/rpi-imager/rpi-imager-zynthian.json
