Unable to create a Java-first webservice only project with gvNIX/Roo #6

Right now, there is no clean way to create a Java-first webservice only project with gvNIX/Roo.

The proposed workaround executing web mvc setup is sub-optimal, at its best, as you have to delete 56 files by hand.
