This is a change that @spxiwh originally made to get the PE working for the EW project. I'm opening this as draft PR so we can discuss how to best handle this alongside https://github.com/gwastro/BBHX-waveform-model/pull/2

This has been addressed in https://github.com/gwastro/BBHX-waveform-model/pull/7
