www<-"http://www.massey.ac.nz/~pscowper/ts/Maine.dat" Maine.month<-read.table(www, header=TRUE)

Error in file(file, "rt") : cannot open the connection In addition: Warning message: In file(file, "rt") : cannot open: HTTP status was '404 Not Found'

It seems that the address changed. Do you know what is the correct link for this data base?

Thanks

please try this http://staff.elena.aut.ac.nz/Paul-Cowpertwait/ts/Maine.dat

kapiljaisinghani commented 7 years ago

this link is also not working :(

southportjohn commented 7 years ago

I have tried both of the above and neither works.
It is almost impossible to search for Cowpertwaite on google, it insists he is Cowperthwaite!

Mamo123 commented 7 years ago

You can find the data at: https://github.com/svkerr/R_Files/blob/master/TimeSeries/Maine.dat

gnuwin32 commented 6 years ago

Either try:http://www.maths.adelaide.edu.au/emac2009/ or: https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9780387886978

Even when I use the link provided by Mamo123, I'm still getting the following error: Error in scan(file = file, what = what, sep = sep, quote = quote, dec = dec, : line 1 did not have 3 elements. The links provided by gnuwin32 don't work either. Does anyone have the exact URL that's worked for them without a problem? All of the data files are accessed in the text with the same base link which is not working.

KeesZeelenberg commented 4 years ago

Both links have the complete dataset. E.g. the reference http://www.maths.adelaide.edu.au/andrew.metcalfe/Data/Maine.dat works. On the Springer site you can download all data files as one zip file; and then after unzipping you can refer directly to your local copy

Thanks a lot KeesZeelenberg & gnuwin32, you saved me a lot of Googling!

You can also use this link to download the folder called "bookwebfiles_Cowpertwait%2c Metcalfe.zip": https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1X8hOf8uB8t4FfnNQPLVh_QXNKi_2OdoQ
