A version of the plugin has been released that supports 3.6 -- using some extension
to
avoid the version checks isn't going to help, since the APIs used changed.
If it isn't working on a particular Linux distro of 3.6, it is probably a shared
library issue, or perhaps the distro built a custom version with a slightly different
gecko libraries (as was the case with FF3.0 on Fedora). There is an issue collecting
information about such problems, which is why I requested posting the information
there.

I have had the same problem as @espenamblekolstad using Arch linux for i686 (32bits)
and firefox 3.6 (xulrunner 1.9.2.4). Do you need some more specific information ?

I have this issue with GWT 2.0.3 and 2.1.0.M1 on Fedora 13 i686.

I have also GWT 2.0.3 and 2.1.0.M1 on Fedora 13 i686. I downloaded the last xpi above
built for ubuntu. I have deinstalled the old xpi and installed the last mention xpi
and it works...

I am a newbie at all this and badly stuck at the same problem, I have a 64 bit centOS
machine...can somebody give steps to resolve this issue..I'll be really thankful.

File gwt-dev-plugin x86_64.xpi from tfished worked fine for me on ubuntu 64 bits.
