Want start automaticly? Windows #135

Is there a known problem that the server will not start under windows?

I have used the windows installer, but I have to use the start in console,
to get anything to work.

It will not work with just the start nor the stop first. Just the start in
console.

i have changed the port, and where the index file is, so this is ok, as
long as I use the start in console.

Is this something I`m doing wrong?

Windows 7, 32bit.

kindly

Petter

pettnett: the Start/Stop Service requires it to install as a Service first, if
they're not working, that's likely why...

That said, I'm having the same problem. I selected to install it as a Service,
but
there's no Service for Mongoose or for SrvAny in the Service Management
snap-in. And
I'm not sure how to manually install the service.

SrvAny is an antiquated method as it is, hailing from WinNT 3.5x and never
updated,
poor choice really for something that should have been built as both a combo
service
and standalone app to begin with.

I am putting service support back into the binary.

In 2.9 the "Mongoose 2.9" Service seems to be installed okay. It starts, stops,
restarts, pauses, and resumes. It still uses srvany, if that is a concern.

Yes, 2.9 must be OK.
Also, I am going to remove the need of srvany.exe.
