I often switch between local development and making changes on a remote server. Since the directory trees are largely the same, I have a to a close eye on which files I'm using. It's easy to be absent-minded and edit a remote file when I thought I was editing a local file. I'd like to be able to open ftp-remote-edit, make some changes, close all remote files, close the extension, and return to editing local files, without the remote directory tree available. I find myself closing Atom to achieve this.
