Nice to hear Paul! It's great news for us! I’m glad you made boilerplate, it's so cool and usable for me, and it helps me so much with my new modern web sites!

Looking forward to see 1.0 soon!

Thank you guys.

Nikita-S-Doroshenko commented 13 years ago

Paul, I think it will be a goot idea if you'll add and include "flash" & "xml" folders in to your boilerplate root. Boilerplate - it's great startup, if you have "js-mylibs" forlder or prepared "script.js" file, why not to add a "flash" & "xml" folders for people who maybe will/want to use dynamic content, banners, cu3er, Sifr or any other things...

Thanks.

Add: And what about meta "keywords" in header for SEO?

P.S. Can't find any information about gitignore, what this files used for? And can i remove them or better to keep them? (i'm on Apache)

P.P.S. Paul, if you are making the text looks better, changing it's color, working with links, why not to make "text-decoration: none; border-bottom: #607890 1px solid;" for links? In my opinion border looks better then text decoration.

meta keywords is like a human tailbone- vestigial.

tying into issue #185 and the above suggestion I'm in favor of flash, xml and css/fonts directories.

devinfd commented 13 years ago

Keywords are no more. How's that SEO going for you?

edit - sorry for the smart ass comment, just had to ask.

Thanks god that Google don’t use keywords any more, but we still got millions of people and webmasters which working with other search engines, and it can be a “region search engines”, I’m working in Russian and I’m working with crazy Yandex.ru search engine, and they unfortunately corrupted and use keywords and lots of other suck things :( I hope Google soon will crash in dust this crazy yandex and SEO in Russia will be lot more honored, clean and cheaper.

I have created a wiki page to write down some basics about script loading (learned from Steve Souders):

https://github.com/paulirish/html5-boilerplate/wiki/Script-Loading-Techniques

It seems a few issues talk about script loading issue: https://github.com/paulirish/html5-boilerplate/issues#issue/252 https://github.com/paulirish/html5-boilerplate/issues#issue/229 https://github.com/paulirish/html5-boilerplate/issues#issue/28

mathiasbynens commented 13 years ago

Just updated to jQuery 1.5.1 (b0bb456eeb5732910c444e7951895f186d607bb0). Boilerplate v1.0 can haz IE9 compatibility plx?

paulirish commented 13 years ago

Ticket updated again. :) We just soft launched 1.0rc. Tweet going out at 9:15am PST.

Try not to make a huge deal about it because we're just amping up for the real 1.0 which should have more fanfare. :)
