Just include Make.user directly
Replace SunPro-style pattern rule by suffix rule; neither can merge targets into a single call, so no point in using $?
Replace unportable $^ with a variable.
Replace wildcard+sort with a call to ls, also for portability.

Are you packaging libtree for some new platform?

Thanks. Yes, I just packaged it for SourceMage, but I can package for several systems.

Great! I'll wait for a few more changes or a bit of time before tagging new patch versions.
