• [ ] Is unit motion costly?
• [ ] Is laggyness over time in my vscode caused by this or other extensions?
• [ ] does it make sense to move away from generators and move to stepper functions

So far, when seeing slow performance speeds in VSCode, this has yet to be due to the any problems with selection utilities. Rather there are other extensions (e.g. for typescript or markdown language support) that are creating issues.

Profiling while specifically doing a lot of unit motions does not seem to cause any noticeable expenditure of time in selection utilities.
