Create a unique QR ID tag for every hacker. The IDs should be given out at registration and attached to attendee badges (perhaps as a sticker).
Sponsors should be able to scan the QR ID to have instant access to that hacker's registration information: name, email, resume, etc.
We can try creating our own custom QR generator to incorporate a HackRPI theme into the pixel layout somehow. This may involve making our own QR reader as well which is not a can of worms I intend on opening at the moment.
This could be beneficial, as we could control who has access to our unique scanner if we feel we need to restrict who has access to the data given distributed by the QR ID.
The unique scanner could also have different modes as well. Since the QR ID will be constant but what we want to with the ID might change, this would be a huge advantage. Suggested modes are information (data distribution), data collection (update attendee information on-the-fly), and check-in (see below).
Furthermore, we can scan QR codes to track hacker's activities: getting food (or allowing access to special diet-restricted food), attending tech talks, non-hacking related games, etc.--all to collect more data.
