Create a server admin setting to have the Status Board be in 1 of 3 modes:
Pre-event Account Registration. Only the sign up and profile templates should be visible. Expand the fields for user registration and collect more information.
Check-In. Create a couple check-in role accounts. Volunteers at the registration table who are logged into the Status Board on these accounts have a view from which they can check people in to the event. The check-in process will "upgrade" accounts--assign an account the "hacker" role. This unlocks more options on the user's profile.
Event. This is the current view. All features should be available.
Note that the admin should have access all features at all times.
