Is this compatible with iOS 9? #62

I updated to iOS 9 and I can not download the new backup. I can connect to the account but I only see the backup from iOS 8. It is almost like the backup from iOS 9 is on a different server.

@horrorho Sir any update

horrorho commented 8 years ago

Sorry for the lack of updates and general apathy, I've been under constant and heavy pressure from work. That being said, I've had this week off and I'm 90% certain that I have the iOS 9.3 decryption figured. The usual caveats apply as iOS encryption seems to be a rapidly moving target these days.

I'll aim to push a new build in a few days. I'll also work through the backlog of emails and tickets.

Ok ok ok!!

Some of you may have noticed that I've been pushing out a number of builds this week. At present InflatableDonkey appears to be largely functional.

I'm rather hoping that someone wants to port this over to Python and take over the reigns. Looking through the code base I hadn't realised how complex the whole thing has become and it's probably putting people off. But then again I'm not a programmer and I don't have an IT background, so it's doable.

If anyone is keen to port then please let me know, fame and glory awaits you. I'm happy to assist while I have the free time to do so.

@horrorho Excellent work; thank you so much! What were the key differences between iOS 9.3 and earlier?

horrorho commented 8 years ago

@teamboldshoes the notable change was a new lightweight ProtectionInfo data format. Also, although not new to iOS 9.3, I've added in experimental AES-XTS support so backups created with newer devices (A8+ processors) is possible.

I want to get my Whatsapp backup from the cloud backup I've downloaded. Anyone knows where it is?
