Clean desk policy #17

Hi all, I'm bothered by the fact that clean desk policy is not abide by some of the members. I know that most of us try our best to keep hackerspace a clean and tidy place for everyone to do their stuff.

I understand that sometimes we forget to return stuff and all, that is fine as we all make mistakes. However, I've been consistently having to clean up after people's mess that they leave in the space. As a result, I have arrived at the conclusion that these people do not understand the meaning of clean desk policy. Therefore, I will be posting a guide here as to what would the minimum expectations of clean desk policy. Feel free to discuss/agree/disagree or ask questions if there are parts which lack clarity.

For personal items:

In the following scenario, I have setup my laptop and stuff on the table for my daily use.

I have also used the plugs for powering my laptop and the shared monitor.

After I am done using the table, I will clear the table.

image

I will also not leave any personal plugs on the table and switch off things as needed.

For shared items:

In the following scenario, I have borrowed some USB plugs and cables and hole puncher.

image

I am also using the plug for my phone charging.

image

Once I am done using, I will keep them in the place where I borrow them from.

image

I will then return the boxes to the places where they belong to.

Following from yesterday's plenum

@valentine suggested that we can keep a single USB hub hidden in the plugs area, away from sight. I suggested that cables should still be removed from the USB hub after using. There was consensus on this issue and we can close this issue.
