SpeedKart(Hassle free shopping):
The SpeedKart is a shopping cart capable of detecting products placed in its basket through Computer vision inference and RFID work collaboratively to train and improve the model.
The SpeedKart is a shopping cart capable of detecting products placed in its basket. It will connect to the local WiFi network to fetch product meta-data from the company’s database. The customer pairs his handset(smartphone) with the SpeedKart to complete their purchase without waiting in a checkout line.
In the proposed project, Computer vision inference and RFID work collaboratively to train and improve the model. Object classes are to be added as RFID tagged products are introduced into the store. Products are associated with object class data via RFID tags attached at initial phases of usage. Over time the RFID tagging can be omitted once the Computer Vision inference performance is above the threshold as approved by the merchant.
