It's a bit slow going trying to get feedback on the COP descriptions. Here are the ones that I've been able to complete so far (engineering and UI/UX). Feedback welcome! Thank you, Patty
The Engineering Community of Practice (COP) is a space for developers to share effective practices and set development standards and give and receive mentorship. Recent projects include career advancement strategy workshops and small tech talks including an architecture paradigm, testing, and a new technology series.

whoops - UI/UX
The User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) Community of Practice (COP) is a space for UI and UX designers and research professionals to share effective practices, and give and receive mentorship, set design and research standards, and to create guides for new projects. Recent projects include testing the interface of a new transportation management portal for the City of Los Angeles, designing the interface of the new volunteer opportunities website, and testing the usability of finding and signing up for new volunteer opportunities through Hack for LA website.
Looks good @patula006 ! Please let me know which CoP's you have yet to get a response from and I can follow up with the leads. if there are further difficulties we can engage Bonnie
Thank you! I am running into dead ends, despite trying several methods to reach out to folks.
I have two done: Engineering and UI/UX (because I am familiar enough with this one).
The remaining ones to get (and who I reached out to last):
Here is the message that I sent:
I am working on the new Hack for LA landing page and have been tasked with writing a description of each COP. I would like to get feedback on my brief description to ensure accuracy and I also would like to include an example project or two for each one. Thank you in advance for your help! Patty
And here are the working versions that I sent for each COP that I am still trying to get info on: The Data Science Community of Practice (COP) is a space for data science professionals to discuss the current state of the field, share effective practices, give and receive mentorship, and to workshop projects. Recent projects include xyz.
The Operations (Ops) Community of Practice (COP) is a space for operations professionals to discuss all areas of dev-ops, coordinate infrastructure improvement, and share effective practices, and give and receive mentorship. Recent projects include improving AWS hosting, password vaults, and multi-tenant product architecture.
The Product Managers (PM) Community of Practice (COP) is a space for product management professionals to share effective practices, and give and receive mentorship, set product management standards, and to create guides and templates for new projects. Recent accomplishments include xyz.

Great work @patula006! we can mark this item as done
We need to collect or create CoP descriptions to include under the landing page so that users who come to civictechjobs.org can get additional information about what we offer
