How do you want to represent 24/7?

Arjayellis commented 4 years ago

I would just do:

Monday-Sunday: 12AM-11PM

Just so we stay consistent.

@aNullValue What do you think?

aNullValue commented 4 years ago

"Monday-Sunday:00:00-23:59" would work. 12h times are fine too, but just saying 11pm would indicate that it's closed for an hour.

Arjayellis commented 4 years ago

Sorry, I meant to say 12AM to 12AM.

Seymour100 commented 4 years ago

I changed the syntax to 12AM-12PM.

A few notes about this state:

  1. there are many dates in the "hours" field. I see we have added a start date column, but there are numerous instances of "ends at 7PM on election day". I've left those as is. Some don't even list the day of the week, but the calendar date.

  2. Where there are "except holidays" notes I left them (although I'm thinking that there is only Columbus day in Oct.)

  3. Some counties uploaded a table of their hours. So one Monday is a separate entry from another Monday. In these instances there are multiple records for the same address.

If you want specific changes to these scenarios LMK.

@aNullValue @Seymour100 I changed the format for hours, to be recognized in one location, ping me if you need more info

Illinois must be revisited. The majority of their jurisdictions are missing from the provided file, and no jurisdictions had contact info.

I processed the file anyway, but... I'd rather just delete it all and begin again. :-\

Seymour100 commented 4 years ago

I'll try to take a look at it this weekend. I'm guessing because I scraped the dropbox page, which is separate from the jurisdictions page, that not every jurisdiction had a dropbox.

Seymour100 commented 4 years ago

@aNullValue , I added a second sheet "Jurisdiction Offices" to the Illinois Google Sheet with the details of their offices and contacts. Note the last 6 records aren't counties but cities.
