Message posted on Slack channels on 03/08/22:
Hello All,
We are looking for a UX researcher to assist with the formation of a board of advisors. Please see the posting for the project BallotNav on the UI-UX GitHub Board under UX researchers: https://github.com/hackforla/UI-UX/projects/2
If you are interested, please respond via our Slack channel # BallotNav.
Thanks!!
I have been communicating with 2 UX researchers via Slack, evaluating their experience and availability. One is very new to UX research but doing self study and has completed a Google UX design certificate. I am still gathering info on the other, and if they are a bit more experienced, I may advise to the PM team that they be on boarded to our project.
Followed up via Slack with PM team to see if I can move forward with on boarding Carrie Geng to our team, she attended HfLA on boarding last Monday. Zuri Smith- has general research experience, looking to move into UX research specifically. They will attend the HfLA on boarding this Tuesday and let me know if they still want to join the project.
Discussed adding Carrie to the project with Karen and Gayathri at PM meeting. Sent Carrie link to the Welcome wiki and officially invited her to the project. She should be attending our team meeting tomorrow evening (03/15/22).
03/15/22: Carrie joined team meeting and UX breakout session today. Will work on getting her fully on boarded this week, and to start being assigned tasks starting next team meeting. Will be adding her to issues as discussed at UX meeting.
Zuri completed HfLA on boarding tonight, advised that they would like to join the team. Will check in with PM team to get approval to officially invite to team, and get on boarding process started.
Both Carrie and Zuri will need to be assigned UX on boarding issue. Check with Layne on status of issue, add feedback.
@kcoronel Is there a process we need to follow to remove job description from Open Roles page? We don't need any more UX researchers at this time so I'd like to remove the description.
Assigned issue #479 to myself and Layne, I'll add my notes shortly.
Sent screenshots of my chat with Zuri to PM team via Slack for approval on adding to the team.
Engaged with another UX researcher, Lihui Zhang. Asked that she be available for the team meeting tomorrow. Will discuss her and Zuri's addition at the PM meeting tonight, 03/21/22.
Removed Job posting from the UI-UX open roles board.
Both Zuri and Lihui joined the team meeting today, and I had a separate meeting with them to brief on the new direction of the project. They are both added to the roster and we will proceed with getting them access to the rest of the project.
